It’s been an amazing experience reading through the three books of ‘the lion and the king series.’ A Royal Father is the last in its series. From the first book, the storyline has taught so many life lessons- overcoming the grip of fear, dealing with inner thought that tries to draw us away from the love of God, praising and trusting God when all seems lost, believing that God’s way is not our way but His plans for us are good, etc.I was so eager to know how the main character- Jerusha, will move on with life after losing the love of her life and she did great. No matter the temptation that came her way, she trusted and persevered. I must say, Jerusha is a strong and beautiful woman whose life is a great example.

A royal father was intense and very emotional, but I loved the happy ending. The author displayed the growth of the characters in an amazing way. Going back to life lessons, one that really spoke to me was Jerusha’s decision to face death instead of accepting a marriage proposal from her past enemy. Just to get out of a difficult situation, we might be tempted to make the wrong decision, but Jerusha showed so much strength as she accepted whatever may come her way, even if it meant being crucified with her sons.

Cheers to an amazing series, it was fun and we never got tired of any book in the series.
