Talk about curiosity… that is what led to choosing this book as the book of the month for August. The faith lessons, questions and inspiration embedded in this book is one that cannot be forgotten easily. One question you can’t hold back from asking yourself is, What is the level of faith and commitment you have as a Christian?

Each Chapter in this book seems to point the reader to a fact or an analysis of the Christian faith and our duty here on earth as children of God. The first chapter rubbed on our curiosity as Pastor Riley Ellison goes for evangelism at the strip club. Crazy move, right? I call him a radical man of God. His method of saving one soul for God always cost him a lot, but he didn’t mind. Anything that would bring one more soul to the kingdom of God is worth the price to pay. After all, one soul is worth more than gold or any amount of money.

Pastor Riley holds a press conference stating he stands on the word of God in Matthew 17:20. As the word of God states, he is going to command the mountain facing his church to move in two weeks, to prove that God is real and to bring the nation back to Himself. The mountain is a popular one called MEAD MOUNTAIN. Emotions and actions spring forth from both believers and unbelievers all over the world, all anxiously waiting to see a great miracle or great mockery of the Christian faith.

As the two weeks count down begin, Pastor Riley’s church seat begins to empty out. Believers accuse him of trying to tear down the Christian faith with this outrageous attempt of moving a mountain that has been there from the beginning of time. Unbelievers wait patiently to prove that God is not real. This couple of weeks leads Pastor Ellison to encounters with different individuals which makes us believe that God can go a great length for the sake of just one person or a handful of people.

The author’s writing style is very much commendable. It gives the reader the needed information while giving room for personal reflection. This is the first book read by this author, and it has made us eager to read more from B.K Dell.

To you readers, do you stand with Pastor Riley and believe that Mead mountain will move? Or has your thought moved you to the side of believing that this kind of miracle can’t happen? If you were in Pastor Riley’s church, would your seat be among the empty ones?
