Thinking of the next book for a youth, this is the one for you. The one who knows me is a faith filled captivating book that stirs up sweet and friendly emotions in a young mind. The life lessons are embedded in every page as you flip through. This is one Christian novel that catches the interests of both young and old, and it touches base on the struggles of life especially as a teenager or young adult.

This book is the first in the Sovereign love series. In as much as it is book one, it is very much classified as a stand-alone. The one who knows me is centered on a young girl called Teenaya whose life is raging with so much emotions because of the difficulties she has experiences- from bullying in school to family tragedies. Brought up in a Christian home, she expected that God would make life very comfortable for those who believe in him and serve him, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. She is torn on whether to keep believing this ‘Almighty God’ or take control of her life.

Going into college is a big step and one can say they are now matured. This new phase in life encourages Teenaya to go on her own quest in life and leave God out of it, but can one really escape God? God’s ways are not our ways, but we can stay in faith and know that His plans are of good and not evil to bring an expected end.

The life lessons in this book are amazing and I can truly say the author did a great job tacking the issues people are currently phasing, especially on mental health, depression and anxiety. The world needs more discussion and guidance on these areas. My heart warms to the amount of love, kindness and Godly relationship embedded in this book, and I can’t wait to read the book two in this series.
