We, children of God are representatives of Christ here on earth. Everywhere we find ourselves, we represent Christ through our lifestyle and actions. This is a reminder to us all that we have to practice what we preach and be role models of the principles of Christ here on earth.

We live in a world where both believers and unbelievers are in the same crowd, does this then mean that children of God have to “bend” to fit into the crowd, so as to be accepted or loved by those who do not agree with their faith? ABSOLUTELY NOT. From the moment we proclaimed Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are marked with the mark of Christ (Salvation). The world is now looking at us to see the evidence of this salvation.

Have you ever heard or come across someone who boldly states that they will never become Christians or believe in God because of the lifestyle of some Christians? They have convinced themselves that they would rather continue believing in the idols they are worshipping (or not believe in anything at all) than believe in God and do the same things that Christians do.

Romans 2: 21 – 24

21. You, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal?

22. You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?

23. You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law?

24. As it is written: “God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

If you have identified yourself a child of God, but you are not obeying his commandments or following in the way he has designed for his children, whose child are you exactly? If you are stealing, committing adultery, fornication, telling lies, encouraging violence etc. who are you representing?

Believe it or not, every child of God is watched because the devil wants to use every wrong move to criticize us and condemn us. As you carry the name of God on your lips, let your way of life portray Him too. Do not let the name of God be blasphemed because of your actions.
