Hello woman of God! Before you were conceived God knew you and ordained you to be rightly positioned in your place of ministerial assignment. You are God’s handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good works which he prepared in advance for you to do (Ephesians 2:10).

Writing is a good work, we have loads of writers and there is a tendency to get carried away with someone else’s style or technique of writing.

Perhaps you are hearing this for the first time or maybe this is serving as a reminder “you are distinctively unique”. It is important to understand your uniqueness in ministry in order to succeed.

God has embedded in us different creative abilities to express our individual uniqueness.

Keys To Staying Unique In Your Writing:
1. Depend on God and always follow His leading: Remember he knew you before you were born, he knows you inside out, he called you to write, therefore He alone knows what he wants you to pass across (Message).
He has the answers to your Why, How, What and When. Talk to God, he is your father, he listens when we call.
You can ask questions like:
Why was I called to write?
How do I write ( Style, techniques/medium to express my writing)?
When should I start a blog, publish a book e.t.c
What topics should I write on?

God has all the answers! Seeking answers from man could mislead you sometimes, God’s opinion supersedes man’s ideas. Seeking God starts from dwelling in the secret place and hearing him speak. We discover our uniqueness when we spend quality time with God, he reveals deep and secret things to us. Stay connected to God, we need his leading to write.

2. Fear God: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Wisdom is the right application of knowledge.
Fearing God means having a deep reverence for God (Total honor and complete surrender). As a writer, you need wisdom to create original yet impactful contents. Wisdom comes from God.

To attain wisdom, we must keep God’s commands and spend quality time in God’s word. It is also important to build one’s self up by attending training, reading books to gain knowledge/experience and also having a mentor/accountability partner helps too. You cannot give what you don’t have, you cannot draw out from an empty well.

Your uniqueness is embedded in the originality of the wisdom you share.

3. Avoid Distractions: Don’t be distracted by other writers success, that it begins to take a toll on you. Avoid comparison. For example, If you notice a writer launched a bestseller or another blogger has an amazing IG presence and you are still not there yet, you could feel discouraged especially if you do not know you’re why (uniqueness). You might be tempted to start imitating their style of writing or even publish a book God hasn’t instructed you to release.

God is a God of time and season, there is a season for everyone. Don’t compare your seed to another man’s tree ( You will be discouraged). Stay with God, don’t copy someone else unless God is instructing you to do the same. It is not in your place to force impact! If God called you, he will help you. Maybe he called you to bless 2 people only (Focus on them), maybe he called another to bless thousands (All glory to his name). Face your assignment.

Comparison kills joy and contentment. Imitation is Limitation, Imitation kills originality (Uniqueness).Don’t systematically change your Niche because you feel it’s not relevant. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.

4. Understand Your Niche: Your niche is your area of specialization. Knowing your niche keeps you focused. This comes from a place of spending quality time with God. Identify how God speaks to you. Maybe he has placed a burden in your heart to help the poor, heal with your words, to encourage singles, to focus on the married, on motherhood e.t.c It is important to identify those God has called you to serve.

Other ways to identify your niche is by evaluating your passion and strengths. Where are in vast in knowledge and abilities? It could be a pointer!

Focus on serving your community until you get further instructions from God.
Knowing your niche is one way to uniquely stand out in your calling.
Woman of God! Stay Focused! You are amazing! You are unique.
